James has over ten years of experience as a Registered Dietitian. He is a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) and an exercise physiologist. James is the founder and owner of JLucas Nutrition, which offers you comprehensive, realistic nutrition advice and meal plans to help optimize your health, wellness and athletic performance. James has several years of experience in the field of nutrition. James graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Sciences with a minor in Nutrition for Sport & Exercise. He also has his master’s in Exercise Physiology from Southern Connecticut State University. James completed his dietetic internship at Yale New Haven Hospital and worked for Yale Hospital as an oncology dietitian. He has experience working with cancer patients, athletes and active individuals and focuses on developing a tailored approach to your individual nutrition needs. James is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), the dietetic practice group Sports, Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutrition (SCAN), and the Certified Practitioners in Sports Dietetics Association (CPSDA) group. James currently resides in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex and enjoys traveling throughout the U.S. He stays active by running 5k races with his dog, doing resistance training, HIIT and occasionally Latin dancing.
